GMJ Accounting was founded in 2014 to give those owners a real alternative. We are a highly credentialed firm that handles the accounting work consistently.
The firm serves business owners across Jacksonville, Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, and surrounding communities in the Carolinas. The work covers a range of industries, from ecommerce sellers and restaurants to medical practices, nonprofits, and freight operators. Gina Bertone, EA, MAcc, CEP®
I'm Gina Bertone, founder and president of GMJ Accounting. I'm an IRS Enrolled Agent, hold a Master's Degree in Accounting, and am a Certified Estate Planner.
Before starting GMJ, I spent years in public accounting and then served as CFO of a local restaurant chain. That CFO role taught me something a lot of accountants never get to learn. I saw what happens when financials come in late, what a tight payroll week feels like from the inside, and how often owners are forced to make real decisions without good numbers in front of them.
That experience changed how I approach client work. When I look at a set of books, I'm not only checking that the entries are correct. I'm thinking about what the owner is going to need when they sit down to price a job, hire someone, or plan for taxes. Books should answer questions, not just satisfy a deadline.
I founded GMJ in 2014 to create the kind of accounting practice I always envisioned, built around real relationships with the clients we serve. That is still how I run it today.
Ashley McBride
Ashley McBride is an experienced accounting and payroll professional with more than a decade of experience in financial operations, payroll, compliance, and nonprofit accounting. At GMJ Consulting, she supports clients with multi-state payroll, tax filings, budgeting, reporting, and financial planning. Her background also includes manufacturing, project accounting, HR restructuring, sales and use tax, fixed assets, inventory management, and fiduciary work.
Kylee Cremeens
Kylee Cremeens is a Bookkeeper and Staff Accountant at GMJ Consulting. She earned her Associate's degree in Accounting from Edison State Community College and has spent the past two years building hands-on experience in the field. Kylee brings steady attention to detail, a strong interest in accounting, and a genuine commitment to supporting GMJ clients.
Jacqueline Patrick
Jacqueline Patrick brings more than 20 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in financial systems, operational oversight, and day-to-day accounting management. Her experience includes QuickBooks Online, bank reconciliations, transaction classification, journal entries, vendor and customer records, and period closing. She is detail-oriented, analytical, and focused on keeping financial records accurate and organized.
David Alindato
David Alindato is an accounting and tax professional with more than eight years of experience in financial reporting, tax preparation, and compliance. He holds a Master's degree in Accounting and works with both individuals and businesses to keep their financial records accurate and their tax planning organized. His work reflects a practical understanding of both reporting requirements and client needs.
Sherry Lewandowski
Sherry Lewandowski is an experienced staff accountant and bookkeeper with a broad background across bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, sales tax, budgeting, forecasting, and account reconciliation. At GMJ Consulting, she works with QuickBooks Online, TSheets, Hubdoc, and QuickBooks Payroll, supporting clients in industries including construction, legal, nonprofit, restaurant, and retail. Her career includes accounting and operations roles across multiple companies, giving her a strong working knowledge of both financial systems and business operations.
